Hidden from most tourists, in a northern district of Lisbon, between Bairro Alto and Rato, you will find Jardim Botânico da Universidade de Lisboa, or the Botanic Gardens of the University of Lisbon. A great place to visit after a wild night to relax and enjoy beautiful flora.
As said before, Bairro Alto is the place to be at night. Except for Fado restaurants, and one night per year: June the 12th. This night (and the day after), everywhere in Alfama there are barbecues with sardines, and sangria. Because that night, it is Santo Antonio!
From the outskirts of Belém, in this post, we move to the oldest district of Lisboa, Alfama. A wonderful place, situated, like the rest of the city, on the slope of a hill. To get there, take the famous tram line 28. A classic, yellow, usually crowded tram.
