I love taking photos, but bringing my DSLR everywhere I go is a pain. I travel with public transport and car, I carry two laptop bags most of the time, and do not have my own office space, since I work as an external employee at several companies (so I am not sure whether my camera is save when I am out for lunch). But there is my phone, always ready for some snapshots.
Because my phone is always close it helps me constantly to look for beauty. Knowing my phone’s camera is within reach, makes conscious when I look at the world around me. I am aware that there are opportunities for a photo at any corner, I am constantly training myself to look for a story and look at the world from an unorthodox point of view. And I know I am not the best photographer, but it helps me grow, and even more important: it helps me enjoy life.
The quality is not that good when you want to minimize the depth-of-field or need a large dynamic range, but the essence is there. Besides, the limits of the camera on your phone can help you! The absence of optical zoom makes you think about composition and rather use your feet to zoom instead of the lazy zoom function, and changing physical position is changing point of view! Thanks to the limit of camera settings, you solely need to pay attention to composition and training your creativity.
I am sharing my mobile photos on my Facebook page. So follow that page for updates and mobile shots. Share your Instagram, Twitter and Facebook pages in the comment section and I’ll take a look at it. I am quite curious what you will share!
Here are some pictures I made with my iPhone.
Kind regards,
Tieme
